Vancouver-based market research software start-up prioritizing security early-on in its growth

Vancouver, BC – Rival Technologies, the company behind the world’s first conversational insights platform Chat Lab, today announced that it has successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 1 audit.
Rival’s SOC 2 Type 1 audit was performed by global professional services network Deloitte LLP. The certification, developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), tests the controls put in place by a company to establish trust and confidence in the way they manage information for their customers and stakeholders.
“SOC 2 is an achievement for any company but especially a company of our size,” said Rival Senior Security Manager Venetia Verdicchio on the two-year-old SaaS start-up. “The team at Rival was determined to provide this assurance to our customers early on and bake these practices into the fabric of our business. Rigorous standards are now in place to help us meet the needs of customers with highly-regulated security requirements.”
Rival’s new security credentials demonstrate its ongoing commitment to safe and secure data management. The company aims to further enhance its controls in 2020 and onward by achieving a SOC2 type 2 certification.
