Project Waypoint: Official Rules

  1. Sponsor. This drawing is solely sponsored by American Student Assistance of 33 Arch Street, Suite 2100, Boston, MA (“Sponsor”) and administered by Rival Technologies Inc. of 1199 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC (“Administrator”). No other persons or entities are endorsing, sponsoring, or otherwise affiliated with this drawing in any manner whatsoever including, but not limited to, advertisers, Facebook Inc., and Amazon.com LLC.
  2. Eligibility. The drawing is only open to legal residents of the United States (including Washington DC) who are thirteen (13) years of age or older as of the first day of the Drawing Period, as defined below, who have a valid, active mobile phone number and email address.  If an entrant that is selected to win the prize is under the age of eighteen (18), the entrant will be required obtain a parent’s written consent in order to receive the prize(s). Immediate family and household members of ASA employees are not eligible. This drawing is void in all U.S. Territories, foreign territories, and where prohibited or restricted by law.
  3. How to Enter. No purchase is necessary or required to enter the Drawing. A purchase does not increase an entrant’s chances of winning.  To enter, eligible participants must click on Sponsor’s promotion of the drawing as published on Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat and, confirm that the entrant has read and understood this ASA Drawing Official Rules, provide basic personal information to confirm drawing eligibility, provide an active mobile phone number and personal email address, and follow the instructions to complete the online survey(s).  Limit of one (1) entry per Drawing Period per person.
  4. Drawing Period. This drawing begins on January 2, 2019 12:00am PST to January 31, 2020 11:59pm PST (the "Drawing Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Drawing Period will be disqualified and ineligible to win prizes.
  5. Prizes. The winner of the drawing (the “Winner”), if legal resident in the United States (including Washington DC but excluding Puerto Rico), will be awarded one of ten $20 Amazon.com Gift Cards (each a “Gift Card”). The gift card has an approximate retail value of $20 US Dollars. The Winner must have or will need to create, if legal resident in the United States (Including Washington DC but Excluding Puerto Rico) a Amazon.com account, in order to redeem the prize. Winners may not substitute prizes or redeem prizes for cash, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion.  If the prize is a gift card, the gift card is subject to all terms and conditions applicable to the gift card and in effect on the day of issuance.  Sponsor will not replace lost, stolen, or destroyed gift cards.  Sponsor will not take any responsibility for unauthorized use of any gift card after it has been claimed by the Winner. Winners are responsible for paying for all costs, taxes, fees, and expenses associated with the prize, including all federal, state, and local taxes. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
  6. Winner Selection and Notification. The potential Winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible Entries by Sponsor on February 3rd, 2020.  Sponsor will contact the potential Winner by email within two (2) business days following the selection of the potential Winner. To be declared Winner and claim the prize, the potential Winner must complete and email a Declaration of Eligibility and Release within seventy-two (72) hours of Sponsor’s issuance of the potential Winner notification. If the potential Winner fails to claim the prize within seventy-two (72) hours from Sponsor’s potential Winner notification the potential Winner will forfeit the prize and Sponsor will select an alternate potential Winner in a random drawing from all remaining eligible entries. The provisions outlined above shall apply until a potential Winner is declared a Winner. Sponsor will not be liable for the potential Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk email, or other security settings or for the potential Winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. 
  7. Privacy. This drawing is only open to United States residents, and therefore any information submitted to Sponsor as a result of this drawing is only subject to applicable federal, state, and local privacy laws and regulations of the United States, and no other country.  ASA takes measures to ensure that only residents of the United States participate in this drawing.  Residents of other countries should not circumvent ASA questions about residence in order to participate. The personal information collected through this drawing is subject to both Sponsor’s Privacy Policy for Research Participants found at https://file.asa.org/uploads/Project-Waypoint-Privacy-Policy.pdf and Administrator’s privacy policy found at www.rivaltech.com/legal/privacy.
  8. General. In the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, unauthorized intervention, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of the drawing, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, withdraw, or amend this drawing in any way, without prior notice or obligation to entrants.  Sponsor reserves the right to require proof of identity to verify an entrant’s eligibility to participate and may disqualify any entrant that does not provide such proof.  This drawing is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without reference to its conflict of law doctrines.  Any proceeding related to this drawing shall be initiated in the courts of Suffolk County in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Entrants with questions, concerns, or complaints about this drawing or its administration should submit a message to contests@rivaltech.com
